Emerald City Arts is a film/music/visual arts production company, that focuses on art with a social improvement aspect. They needed a brand that will grow with them, and communicate the dynamic nature of the organization. It should be very flexible, but with a strong presence.
We created a brand based around a single symbol. The symbol itself is formed using the 6 point radial symmetry that is found in natural emerald crystals. It also mixes some formal references to meditative mandalas, with a sense of motion, explosion, and connection. It's very strong alone, or with typography. We also made several different versions of the symbols that can be used over various colors and backgrounds. So far we have produced cards, and a simple splash page.
